App Lock means an unlocked phone in the wrong hands still cannot open Golo. Auto-lock can trigger the moment you switch away.
A strict 18+ gate, and real moderation
Date of birth is required at sign-up and cannot be edited later. Display names and bios are screened automatically, you can block or report anyone in two taps, and reports of suspected minors are escalated immediately.

What Grindr is
Grindr shows you a grid of profile pictures, sorted by how close each person is. You tap a tile, read the profile, and start chatting.
A photo is not compulsory on Grindr. But the whole screen is built around one, so a blank tile gets far fewer taps — and in practice most people post a picture.
It is free with ads, and two paid tiers, XTRA and Unlimited, remove the ads and add more results, more filters, and browsing without leaving a trace. Grindr also has Albums, one-hour Right Now posts, and Explore for looking at other cities.

Is Golo a Grindr clone?
No. Golo is an independent app and is not connected to Grindr. The two work differently on purpose: Grindr is built around a grid of photos, and Golo has no profile photos at all.
Can I use Golo without showing my face?
That is the whole idea. There is no profile picture on Golo, so nobody sees your face unless you send a photo inside a chat — and even then it can only be opened once before it is deleted.

You can delete your account from inside the app. That removes your profile, your date of birth, your conversations, your likes, your blocks and your reports straight away. We keep no copy, except where the law requires a limited record for a short period.
