Chennai gay chat, without a photo
Golo is a free app for Chennai gay chat and dating: a chat and dating app for gay and bisexual men in India, aged 18 and over, with no profile photos at all. You can use every screen in Tamil.
Chennai is the capital of Tamil Nadu, and Tamil Nadu is one entry in Golo’s State filter. It takes in Tambaram, but also Coimbatore and Madurai. Puducherry, about 135 km from Chennai Airport, is an entry of its own. Gay chat in India has the other cities.
Find men in Chennai on Golo
Everything here is in Browse, the first tab, and its Filters sheet.
Open Browse
It starts on All states, sorted by Last active: the men seen most recently come first.
Set Sort by to Nearby
Choose Nearby in Filters and tap Apply. Browse is built from the men nearest to you; Nearby lists the men online now first, then everyone else, closest first in each group.
Pick Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, or both
In Filters, open State and pick Tamil Nadu: that drops Puducherry but keeps the whole state, so Nearby is still what puts nearer men higher. To look at Puducherry instead, pick Puducherry. For both, leave State on All states. Tap Apply after any change. State names stay in English, so look for them as written here.
Use Golo in Tamil
Settings, then Language, then தமிழ். The whole app follows straight away; Tamil gay chat shows its Tamil words.
Before you meet anyone, read Golo’s Community Guidelines.
Golo is safety-first by design
On for everyone from the moment you sign up, except App Lock, which you switch on in Settings. Nothing here costs anything.
No profile photo, anywhere
Golo has no profile picture field at all. People read your name, age, position and a short bio — not your face.
An approximate distance, never your spot
Others only ever see roughly how many kilometres away you are, never your exact location.
Chat photos open once
A photo sent inside a chat opens exactly once, and then we delete it from our servers.
Messages clear after 30 days
Every message deletes itself after 30 days, so old conversations are not sitting on your phone.
App Lock and no screenshots
A PIN or your fingerprint in front of the app, and screen capture and recording are blocked throughout.
A phone number, nothing else
Sign up with your mobile number and a one-time code — no email, and no Google or Facebook login tying Golo to the rest of your life. 18+ only.
Common questions
Can I search for an area, like Tambaram?
No. Golo has no area, city or map search, and Tamil Nadu is as narrow as the State filter goes. To favour men close to you, use Sort by Nearby (step 2).
Is Golo on iPhone?
Not yet. Golo is an Android app; an iPhone version is not available.
