Golo is a free app for Marathi gay chat: a chat and dating app for gay and bisexual men in India, aged 18 and over, with every screen in Marathi. Nobody on it has a profile photo, so a chat starts with words, not a face.
One thing to know before you filter: Maharashtra is a single entry in Golo’s State list, so Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur all share it. The steps below put the nearest men who are online at the top. Gay chat in India has the other languages.
Switch Golo to Marathi
On the first screen, or later from Settings, as often as you like.
On the first screen, pick मराठी
The first time you open Golo, it asks you to choose your language (तुमची भाषा निवडा) from a list of nine; मराठी is seventh. Tap it and the screen turns Marathi at once, then tap Continue (पुढे चला) to carry on with sign-up in Marathi.
Or change it in Settings
Open Settings (सेटिंग्ज), tap Language (भाषा) under General (सामान्य), and choose मराठी. Every screen follows straight away.
Choose Maharashtra, then sort by Nearby
In Browse (ब्राउझ), tap Filters (फिल्टर्स), then State (राज्य), and pick Maharashtra, which stays in English in the list. Set Sort by (क्रमवारी लावा) to Nearby (जवळचे) and tap Apply (लागू करा): men online now come first, then everyone else, each from nearest to farthest, wherever in the state you are.

Golo is safety-first by design
On for everyone from the moment you sign up, except App Lock, which you switch on in Settings. Nothing here costs anything.
No profile photo, anywhere
Golo has no profile picture field at all. People read your name, age, position and a short bio — not your face.
An approximate distance, never your spot
Others only ever see roughly how many kilometres away you are, never your exact location.
Chat photos open once
A photo sent inside a chat opens exactly once, and then we delete it from our servers.
Messages clear after 30 days
Every message deletes itself after 30 days, so old conversations are not sitting on your phone.
App Lock and no screenshots
A PIN or your fingerprint in front of the app, and screen capture and recording are blocked throughout.
A phone number, nothing else
Sign up with your mobile number and a one-time code — no email, and no Google or Facebook login tying Golo to the rest of your life. 18+ only.
Common questions
Does choosing Marathi show me only Marathi speakers?
No. Golo has no language filter, and your language is not shown on your profile. The setting changes the app’s own words, not the men in Browse, and it does not translate messages.
Can I use Hindi instead?
Yes. Hindi and English are in the same list, and you can switch between them and Marathi in Settings whenever you like.
Is Golo on iPhone?
Not yet. Golo is an Android app; an iPhone version is not available.
