Bengali gay chat, in Bengali
Golo is a free app for Bengali gay chat: a chat and dating app for gay and bisexual men in India, aged 18 and over, with every screen in Bengali. Nobody on it has a profile photo, so nobody’s face is on show.
In the app the language is listed as বাংলা, Bangla in its own script, with “Bengali” under it. Bengali is an official language in both West Bengal and Tripura, and Golo’s State filter lists the two separately. Gay chat in India has the other languages, and Golo compared with other apps shows how it differs.
Switch Golo to Bengali
Pick it on the first screen, or change it any time later in Settings.
On the first screen, pick বাংলা
Golo first shows its nine languages, each in its own script with the English name too; বাংলা is sixth. Tap it and the screen turns Bengali straight away. Then tap Continue (এগিয়ে যান) to sign up in Bengali.
Switch later from Settings
Open Settings (সেটিংস), then Language (ভাষা) under General (সাধারণ), and choose বাংলা. The change reaches every screen at once, and you can switch back to English the same way.
Narrow Browse to West Bengal or Tripura
In Browse (ব্রাউজ), tap Filters (ফিল্টার) and choose a State (রাজ্য). The names stay in English, so look for West Bengal or Tripura as written here, then tap Apply (প্রয়োগ করুন). The filter starts on All states (সব রাজ্য), and you can go back to it any time.
Find who is online near you
Turn on Online only (শুধু অনলাইন), or set Sort by (সাজান) to Nearby (কাছাকাছি) instead of Last active (সম্প্রতি সক্রিয়), the default: men online now come first, then everyone else, each from nearest to farthest. Before you meet anyone, read Golo’s Community Guidelines.

Golo is safety-first by design

No profile photo, anywhere
Golo has no profile picture field at all. People read your name, age, position and a short bio — not your face.
An approximate distance, never your spot
Others only ever see roughly how many kilometres away you are, never your exact location.
Chat photos open once
A photo sent inside a chat opens exactly once, and then we delete it from our servers.
Messages clear after 30 days
Every message deletes itself after 30 days, so old conversations are not sitting on your phone.
App Lock and no screenshots
A PIN or your fingerprint in front of the app, and screen capture and recording are blocked throughout.
A phone number, nothing else
Sign up with your mobile number and a one-time code — no email, and no Google or Facebook login tying Golo to the rest of your life. 18+ only.
Common questions
Can I narrow it to Kolkata?
Not by city. The State filter stops at West Bengal, the state Kolkata is the capital of, and Golo has no city or area search. Choose West Bengal, then sort by Nearby: men who are online come first, nearest first, then everyone else by distance.
Will I only see men who speak Bengali?
No. Golo has no language filter, your language is not shown on your profile, and messages are not translated. The setting changes the app’s own words, not the men you see.

Yes. Golo is free, with no ads, no subscription and no paid tier.
