Golo vs Blued
The Blued app, sold outside China as HeeSay, is a large social platform with dating inside it. Golo is a quiet chat and dating app for gay and bisexual men in India, with nothing else inside it.
HeeSay is a social network; Golo is only for meeting someone
On Golo there are no profile photos, only a rough distance, chat photos that open once, and messages deleted after 30 days. There is no feed, no live room and nothing to buy.
HeeSay says 54 million LGBTQ+ people have joined. Alongside dating it has live streams, posts, voice chats and groups, and privacy tools of its own.
One fact matters first for a reader in India: on 13 October 2026 we could not find HeeSay in the Indian Google Play Store or App Store.
If you want a big community to watch and take part in, and you can get the app, HeeSay offers far more of it. If you want a quiet app built for meeting men in India, that is Golo.
What Golo keeps quiet
Each of these works from the moment you sign up.
Nothing broadcast
No feed, no posts, no live room and no followers. Other men see your profile, but nothing you do is broadcast to an audience.
No profile photo at all
Your profile shows the first letter of your name, so there is nothing of your face to capture from a grid.
Photos in chat open once
The moment a photo is opened, nobody can open it again, and our servers delete it. Every chat photo works this way; there is nothing to switch on.
Messages go after 30 days, for everyone
Every message is deleted once it is 30 days old. It is not an option you have to choose.
Only a phone number
An Indian mobile number and a one-time code. No email, and no Google, Apple or Facebook account.
Adults only, and moderated
Your date of birth is set once and cannot be changed. Display names and bios are checked automatically, and “User may be a minor” is its own report reason. Our Community Guidelines say what is not allowed.

What Blued is
Blued was launched in Beijing in 2012 by BlueCity. On 1 January 2024 its international version became HeeSay, which says it launched in more than 70 countries and regions. On Google Play, HeeSay is published by iRainbow Hong Kong Limited.
Its social side is the main event: live broadcasts from men nearby and around the world, a feed of posts, voice chats and groups. It is free with ads, and it makes money from a HeeSay Premium subscription and from Beans, which people spend on gifts.
On the privacy side it offers real-person avatar verification, private photo albums, flash photos, disappearing messages and anti-screenshot protection. It works in ten languages: English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indonesian, Thai and Vietnamese. What Blued does well

Which one should you install?
There is no single winner here. There is a version of you that each app is right for.
Choose Golo if…
- You want a dating app, not a social network with dating attached.

- You want the app in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu or another Indian language.
- You are in India and use an Android phone.
- You do not want ads, subscriptions or paid gifts.
Blued may suit you better if…

Common questions
Is Blued the same app as HeeSay?
Broadly, yes. The international version was renamed HeeSay on 1 January 2024, and the Blued name continues in China. Its App Store listing in the US is called “HeeSay: Blued Gay Chat & Dating”.
Can I download HeeSay in India?
Not when we checked on 13 October 2026: neither Indian store listed HeeSay. The Indian App Store did show “WallaX: chat and meet by HeeSay”, a different app from the same publisher, which this page does not cover. HeeSay’s help pages point to both stores, so this may change; check the store on your phone.
Is Golo connected to Blued?
No. Golo is an independent app with no link to Blued, HeeSay, BlueCity or iRainbow Hong Kong.
Does Golo have live streaming?
No. Golo is for finding someone near you and talking one to one.
