For Tamil gay chat and dating, Golo is a free app for gay and bisexual men in India, aged 18 and over, that you can use entirely in Tamil, from the first screen to your chats. Nobody has a profile photo, yours included.
Pick தமிழ் when you first open it, or later in Settings. Gay chat in India lists the other languages, and Golo compared with other apps shows how it differs.
Switch Golo to Tamil
Do it on the first screen, or any time later from Settings.
On the first screen, pick தமிழ்
The first time you open Golo, it lists its nine languages, each in its own script. Tap தமிழ் and the screen turns Tamil at once; then tap Continue (தொடரவும்) and sign-up carries on in Tamil.
Or switch later in Settings
Open Settings (அமைப்புகள்), then Language (மொழி), and choose தமிழ். The whole app changes straight away.
Narrow Browse to Tamil Nadu or Puducherry
In Browse (உலாவு), tap Filters (வடிகட்டிகள்) and choose a State (மாநிலம்). State names are in English in every language, so look for Tamil Nadu or Puducherry as written here, then tap Apply (பயன்படுத்து).
Or leave it on All states
The State filter starts on All states (அனைத்து மாநிலங்கள்), and if nobody matches your filters, the app suggests going back to it. To see who is around now, turn on Online only (ஆன்லைனில் மட்டும்). Before you meet anyone, read Golo’s Community Guidelines.

Golo is safety-first by design
On for everyone from the moment you sign up, except App Lock, which you switch on in Settings. Nothing here costs anything.
No profile photo, anywhere
Golo has no profile picture field at all. People read your name, age, position and a short bio — not your face.
An approximate distance, never your spot
Others only ever see roughly how many kilometres away you are, never your exact location.
Chat photos open once
A photo sent inside a chat opens exactly once, and then we delete it from our servers.
Messages clear after 30 days
Every message deletes itself after 30 days, so old conversations are not sitting on your phone.
App Lock and no screenshots
A PIN or your fingerprint in front of the app, and screen capture and recording are blocked throughout.
A phone number, nothing else
Sign up with your mobile number and a one-time code — no email, and no Google or Facebook login tying Golo to the rest of your life. 18+ only.
Common questions
I live outside Tamil Nadu. Can I still use Golo in Tamil?
Yes. The language is your choice and has nothing to do with where you are. Use Golo in Tamil anywhere in India, and leave the State filter on All states or pick the state you are in.
Does choosing Tamil show me only Tamil speakers?
No. It changes the words on your screen, not the men in Browse. Golo has no language filter, your language is not on your profile, and messages are not translated.
Is Golo on iPhone?
Not yet. Golo is an Android app; an iPhone version is not available.
