Yes, completely. There are no ads between profiles, no subscription, and no limit on how many people you can see. Every feature — the filters, the voice and video calls, the app lock — is available to everyone.
Do I have to upload a photo?
No, and you cannot. Golo has no profile picture field at all, so there is no image of your face on our servers. You can send a photo inside a conversation if you want to, and even then it opens once before we delete it.
Does Golo show my exact location?
No. Other people only ever see an approximate distance to you, in kilometres. Your precise coordinates are used to work that distance out and never leave our servers.
Which languages does Golo support?
Nine: English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam — throughout the app, not just the sign-up screen.
Is Golo available on iPhone?
Not yet. Golo is an Android app today, free on Google Play. An iPhone version is not available.
How do I sign up?
With your mobile number and a one-time password sent by SMS. There is no email address, no password to remember, and no Google, Apple or Facebook login. You give a date of birth once, to confirm you are 18 or over.
What happens to my data if I leave?
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. That removes your profile, your date of birth, your conversations, your likes, your blocks and your reports straight away. We keep no copy, except where the law requires a limited record for a short period.
Is Golo only for gay men?
Golo is built for gay and bisexual men in India, and it is strictly for adults aged 18 and over.
