Grindr Viewed Me: Who Can See You Looked, and How to Stop It
By Golo Team

Grindr Viewed Me is a list of the men who opened your profile in the past 7 days, and unless you switch it off, you appear on their lists too. So yes, you show up on his list, but how much he can see of you depends on his plan. The catch is in the off switch: the setting that hides you from other men's lists also turns off your own list and deletes its history.
Below: what each Grindr plan actually shows, how a view is counted, and the two ways to look without showing up.
What Free, XTRA and Unlimited see in Viewed Me
Does Grindr show who viewed your profile? Yes, on every plan, but how much you see depends on what you pay. You open the list from the flame icon at the bottom of your grid. If a guide tells you to look for an eye icon, it was written for an older version of the app.

| Free | XTRA | Unlimited | |

| Your Views list (last 7 days) | The most recent viewer only | The most recent viewer only | Everyone on the list |
| Can you open or message a viewer? | No | No | Yes |
| Men who viewed you several times | Blurred previews | Full access: see and message them | Full access: see and message them |
| Viewed Me in the plan's feature list | — | Not listed | Listed |
From Grindr's help pages "Viewed Me", "Grindr XTRA" and "Grindr Unlimited", read 13 October 2026.
Grindr's own pages don't fully agree. The Viewed Me page gives XTRA the same Views list as Free but full access to repeat viewers, while the XTRA page doesn't mention Viewed Me at all. Grindr also says it is "currently testing" the feature, so your app may not match the table. Check the list in your own app before you pay for a plan to get it. Both paid plans renew automatically, and Grindr says purchases are non-refundable.
How a view is counted, and what "3+" means
Grindr describes its repeat-viewer count as men who opened your profile in full-screen mode more than once in a week. Views less than 30 seconds apart count as one, and the highest number it shows is "3+". So "3+" means he opened your full profile at least three times in a week, at least 30 seconds apart.
Two groups never appear in that repeat list. Men you have already chatted with are left out, and men you have blocked are removed from it.
Grindr's pages don't say whether the main Views list uses the same full-screen rule, or whether a look from Explore (browsing another city) counts the same way as one from your local grid.
Turning Viewed Me off hides you, and your own list
Can someone see if you viewed their Grindr profile? By default, yes: you appear on his Viewed Me list until you opt out. How clearly he sees you depends on his plan, as the table above shows. Grindr's privacy page describes the switch as controlling "the ability for others to see if you have viewed their profile".
To switch it off:
- Tap your profile icon on the main grid, then tap Settings.
- Scroll to Show Me.
- Turn off Show Me In Viewed List.
This is a trade. Once it's off, you vanish from other men's lists, but your own Views list is switched off too and your existing history is deleted. If you turn it back on later, the list starts empty: nobody who viewed you before, or while it was off, comes back.
So decide which matters more to you: seeing who looked, or not being seen looking. Without Unlimited, you can't have both.
Grindr Incognito: looking without showing up
Grindr Incognito is the other way to look at profiles without appearing on Viewed Me lists. It is part of Unlimited, Grindr's highest paid plan. While it's on, no one sees that you viewed his profile, you appear offline to men you tap or message, and your read receipts don't show.
To turn it on, tap your profile icon, find the status bar below your display name, and choose Incognito. It stays on when you leave the app and come back. While Incognito is on, you can't change the Viewed Me switch in Settings; turn Incognito off first. Grindr's pages don't say whether your own Views list keeps working while you're Incognito.
Viewed Me isn't the only place a look can leave a mark. These are the other switches, and what each one leaves out:
Swipe the table sideways to see every column →
| Switch | What it hides | What it doesn't |
|---|---|---|
| Viewed list switch off (Show Me In Viewed List) | You, from other men's Viewed Me lists | Also turns off your own list and deletes its history |
| Incognito on (Unlimited) | You, from the grid and from Viewed Me lists | Paid; you can't change the Viewed Me switch while it's on; Grindr doesn't say if your own list keeps working |
| For You switch off (Show me in For You) | You, from other men's For You recommendations | Viewed Me: it is a separate switch |
| Explore switch off (Show Me in Explore Searches) | You, from searches by city or zip code | Local men still see you on the grid |

A chat leaves its own traces too. Read receipts come with both paid plans, so if he messages you and you open it, he may see that you read it. Incognito hides your read receipts.
On Golo, looking leaves no list
Golo is our app, so weigh this part with that in mind.
Golo has no Viewed Me list. When you open a man's profile, nothing shows up anywhere for him. There is no paid plan that unlocks one: Golo is free, shows no ads and has no paid tier. Profiles have no photos either, just a letter where a photo would be, so you get to know someone through what he wrote.
That doesn't mean you leave no trace at all. If you like a man's profile, he sees it: his Likes tab lists the men who liked him, newest first. Others can also see when you are online now. If you want to mark a man without telling him, add him to your favourites instead. Your chat with him then shows under Favourites in your chats, and he is never told.
Golo is an Android app, so if you're on an iPhone, the Grindr switches above are the ones to use. To see where each app is stronger, read how Golo and Grindr compare or browse all our app comparisons. You can also read how Golo profiles work, or get Golo on Google Play.
