Mumbai gay chat, without a photo
Golo is a free app for Mumbai gay chat and dating: a chat and dating app for gay and bisexual men in India, aged 18 and over, with no profile photos at all.
Golo’s State filter has one entry for all of Maharashtra, Pune and Nagpur included, so in Mumbai the sort order does more than the filter. Here is how to keep the top of your grid local. Gay chat in India lists the other cities.
Find men in Mumbai on Golo
All of it happens in Browse, the first tab, and its Filters sheet.
Open Browse
It starts on All states, sorted by Last active, so the men seen most recently come first.
Set Sort by to Nearby
In Filters, choose Nearby under Sort by and tap Apply. Men online right now lead the grid, nearest first.
Choose Maharashtra only if you want to
Picking Maharashtra drops anyone outside the state but keeps Thane, Mumbai’s neighbour to the north, because Thane is in Maharashtra too. Pune and Nagpur stay in as well, so Nearby is still what keeps it local.
See who is around right now
Turn on Online only in the same sheet. If nobody matches, the app suggests clearing a few filters or going back to All states.

Golo has no profile picture field at all. People read your name, age, position and a short bio — not your face.
An approximate distance, never your spot
Others only ever see roughly how many kilometres away you are, never your exact location.
Chat photos open once
A photo sent inside a chat opens exactly once, and then we delete it from our servers.
Messages clear after 30 days
Every message deletes itself after 30 days, so old conversations are not sitting on your phone.
App Lock and no screenshots
A PIN or your fingerprint in front of the app, and screen capture and recording are blocked throughout.
A phone number, nothing else
Sign up with your mobile number and a one-time code — no email, and no Google or Facebook login tying Golo to the rest of your life. 18+ only.
Common questions
Can I search for a particular area, like Andheri or Bandra?
No. Golo has no area, city or map search. Sorting by Nearby puts the men online right now first, nearest first among them, wherever in Mumbai you are.
What does my profile show other people?
A display name, your age, your position, whether you have a place to meet, a short bio and an approximate distance, plus whether you are online now and how many likes you have. No photo.
Is Golo on iPhone?
Not yet. Golo is an Android app; an iPhone version is not available.
